“LYING HERE”
BEHIND-THE-SCENES
PHOTOGRAPHY
For the filming of TUUDI’s music video for “Lying Here”, I acted as the behind-the-scenes photographer. Their first EP, also titled Lying Here, was released on January 28th 2026. This behind-the-scenes series documents the quieter, in-between moments of the Tuudi shoot, where the constructed image begins to unravel into something more instinctive and real. Moving away from the final, composed portraits, these frames focus on process: pauses between direction, shifts in energy, and the subtle negotiation between artist and camera.
Rather than treating BTS as secondary, this section reframes it as its own narrative space. There’s a looseness here, gestures unfinished, expressions unguarded, environments partially revealed, that offers insight into how the work is built. The camera becomes less of a tool for performance and more of a witness to collaboration in motion.
Influenced by photographers like Ewan Spencer, particularly his peripheral, observational approach in One Night in Watford, the work positions the camera as a quiet witness rather than a controlling presence. This documentary instinct runs alongside a more stylised visual language, where light and composition still shape the emotional tone of each frame. These references emerge not as direct imitation but as a sensibility in which image-making becomes a space charged with ambiguity, intimacy, and controlled unreality.
In documenting these moments, the series reflects my ongoing interest in the space between intention and outcome, where identity is less performed and more felt, and where the boundaries between subject, artist, and observer begin to blur.
